#CasasDay
Happy #CasasDay Today we're trying to raise awareness of the continued need Casas Por Cristo has. I've been going to Mexico for 13 years now so it's hard for me to choose just one memory but I do have a favorite shirt. It says "I need Mexico more than Mexico needs me." My first time going I wasn't reallyt sure what to expect but what I got was amazing; God opened my eyes to not just the need in Mexico but the need all over the world. God changed my outlook and showed me what it's like to be the hand and feet. of Christ to do His works in the world.
There's a lot of brokenness and craziness going on in this world, especially right now, that doesn't mean we can't help. I get questioned a lot about why I am going to another country when there is a nee around here? My response is I go to Mexico 1 week out of the year to make a difference in someone else's life. What do you think I'm doing with the other 51 weeks of the year? What are you doing with all 52 weeks of your year?
Sure, some things are big and get a lot of attention and some things are small and almost go unnoticed but you can always serve. Right now it's important to take care of our friends and family. Trust me, right now I'm very focused on taking care of those in need and keeping myself and my loved ones safe from the daily petri dish that I'm swimming in but my vision hasn't changed. I'm still called to be the hands and feet of Christ to do His works. Most of the time God calls me to work here. One week of the year He calls me to go to Mexico and show His love and compassion to a part of the world that almost seems forgotten.
Casas Por Cristo changed my life forever in a way I never thought could happen. They are working to change lives everyday, both in Mexico, and at home.
