Unknown Question Marks

Something that has been on my mind a lot lately is all the little “unknowns” and “question marks” that are in our lives. Seems that most often we don’t even know that they are a thing until they are right in our face. At that point we tend to go into panic mode. Sometimes that’s warranted, to an extent. Most of the time there really is no need to go all red alert on it, we just don’t like things that interfere with our daily schedule.

We often forget that we are not the ones in control of our lives. We like to play pretend that we have everything planned and in control. I think that’s why we freak out with an “unknown” comes in to our life. We realize that things happen in this world that we can’t control, that’s is called life, life happens. I have had many many “unknowns” come across my life and lately I’ve been trying to focus more on these “question marks” in my life and trying to allow these to help teach me.

Some of these come at a very very high personal price and they are painful. It's really hard to see this but I would be an idiot to not take the lesson and apply it to my life. We all have these “unknowns” in our lives, some are big and serious, some are small and easily overcome; but most commonly I think we have small ones that we think are big. Regardless of the size of the question mark we get we far too often let them negatively affect our lives instead of using them as the teaching tool they can be.

What are your “question marks” and “unknowns?” What are you allowing them to become, tools to bring your closer to God, or wedges to separate you? Personally, I’m really trying to focus on the lesson God is teaching me. After all God already knows the big picture and all the little pieces of our lives and how they fit together.
